Chartwell Green is a suburban area situated in the Borough of Eastleigh, outside the formal boundary of Southampton city. It is part of the West End parish and is known for its main parade of shops, which is sometimes referred to as Townhill Farm, named after the nearby Townhill Park House. The Townhill Farm Community Centre, constructed in 1991, comprises an entrance foyer, toilets, a main hall with an adjacent storage room, a committee room and a kitchen, and a cafe area overlooking a garden and patio. The Southampton City Council owns the building, which is leased for 125 years,
and was managed by the Eastleigh Borough Council until 2006 when it was transferred to the West End Parish Council. The majority of Chartwell Green was built in the late 1980s and falls under the postal code of SO18.
